The Advanced Trauma Life Support® (ATLS®) program can teach you a systematic, concise approach to the care of a trauma patient. ATLS was developed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma (COT) and was first introduced in the US and abroad in 1980. Its courses provide you with a safe and reliable method for immediate management of injured patients. The course teaches you how to assess a patient’s condition, resuscitate and stabilize him or her, and determine if his or her needs exceed a facility’s capacity. It also covers how to arrange for a patient’s inter-hospital transfer and assure that optimum care is provided throughout the process. If you don’t treat trauma patients frequently, an ATLS course provides an easy method to remember for evaluation and treatment of a trauma victim.

Registration Requirements

All registration questions must be completed in full.  Incomplete submissions may result in delayed processing or forfeiture of your course spot.

Materials will be sent (30 days prior to class date)  and only after payment has been confirmed following. If payment is not received in a timely manner, your enrollment may be cancelled.

Attendance & Rescheduling Policy

All participants—whether enrolled in the 2-day ATLS course, Instructor course, Intern training, or Refresher session—are required to attend all scheduled class sessions in full. There are no exceptions to this requirement. This ensures each participant receives the full educational benefit and meets the standards set forth by the OU Health Trauma Program and its accrediting partners.

• If you are unable to commit to the full course, you must reschedule.
• You are only allowed to reschedule one time.
• If you do not attend (no-show) without proper notice, you will:
  • Be marked as a no-show
  • Not be eligible for a refund

This policy is in place to ensure fairness to all participants and to maintain a high-quality, consistent learning experience.

Cancellation Policy 

• 29 days or fewer before the course date: ❌ No refunds
• 30 days or more before the course date: ✅ Refund minus a $175.00 handling fee

All cancellations must be submitted in writing within the timeframes stated above to: trauma@ouhealth.com
